Full Steam Ahead

Hi Everyone, I have been a member of Belmont Pottery Group for about 10 years and I just love it there.
Belmont Pottery Group is a great facility for those of us who love to get our hands dirty and play with "mud", however do not have the opportunity to do this in our own home.
We have a Brand New Kiln that is firing Full Steam Ahead with the members pottery pieces, including mine. Woohoo! We have a great glazing room that is stocked with a range of coloured glazes and washes, as well as 6 pottery wheels that anyone can have a go using.

Apart from my mad addiction to pot (which means I'm happy to play in mud almost anywhere), I find the facilities a fantastic environment to work in. It has comforts such as Heating in winter and Air conditioning in summer, personally I find this an added bonus as this is something I do not have at home.

I thought I would also share with you a few photos of what I do. Leading up to what is commonly known as the "Silly Season" that is Christmas, I have been potting like mad trying to get some pieces ready for sale and gifts before Christmas!!
If you are interested, you can check out more of my pieces at: https://www.facebook.com/LittleMissMudCeramics/

At the moment we are managing to get the kiln loaded and unloaded every other week with all sorts of pieces going through the firing process. So we have a reasonably quick turn around, allowing you to take home your finished pieces sooner.

This photo is some of my Bisque Fired pieces fresh out of the kiln ready to have their glazes put on.

These have a fresh Iron Oxide wash with a hint of Underglaze for colouring.

This is the loaded kiln ready for a Glaze firing.

Obviously if you yourself or someone you know are interested in becoming a valued member of the Belmont Potters Group and having the opportunity to play in mud like me, please see below for more details about the group, what days and times we are open and contact details if you have any queries.

Love to see you there, till next time...
Laynee
